Treating Fibromyalgia – How Do You Treat Fibromyalgia?
There is no supposed cure for fibromyalgia but doesn’t mean a person suffering from it has to have their quality of life compromised. fibromyalgia can be managed very successfully with a variety of treatment methods and activities.
First things first though, a person suffering from fibromyalgia needs to make a commitment to a long term treatment management plan otherwise symptoms will continue to hamper their quality of life.
Fibromyalgia Treatment Methods
Let’s take a look at possible treatment approach options for fibromyalgia sufferers. Obviously, these should only be attempted in conjunction good medical opinion.
1. Exercise is the number one consideration when looking at treatment for fibromyalgia. You’re probably wondering how so when you are feeling pain. Well, exercise relates to conducting proper stretching routine. You need to increase the range of your vitality and motion. Along with this, exercise means working the muscle to strengthen your motion range. Then , most importantly, proper rest should be observed.
2. Therapy involving the improvement of flexibility and relaxation of muscles is recommended. This will include ultrasound and electrical stimulation from professionals although, obtaining equipment such as an ultrasound yourself may be a good move at a future date. This type of therapy also involves massage vibration and acupressure to relax the muscles.
3. Acupuncture or pressure point therapy is highly recommended. This can relieve painful trigger points and well worth exploring.
4. Sleep problems need to be corrected. The problem with getting enough sleep time yet still waking up more tired than when you went to bed has to be tackled. Your doctor can advise you who you need to see but obviously, checking in with a sleep specialist is a good start. You should also look at your bedding such as mattress and perhaps explore bedding such as tempurpedic. This should only be done though after analysis by a specialist.
5. Visiting a chiropractor with experience in treating fibromyalgia can have it’s benefits. Being educated in proper posture techniques in all facets of your day-to-day activities will go a long way to tempering the emergence of fibromyalgia symptoms.
