Home Remedies For Fibro Headaches

A fibro headache is no laughing matter. Instead of using conventional medicine, there are a few home remedies around that are just as effective. The best part is that you will not experience any side effects.

One thing you can try is the natural herb called Echinacea. Studies have shown it is effective in treating and can give relief to those who have a cold. This is available in packet forms and can be mixed in warm water.

Getting a massage can help. If you don’t want to go to a spa, learn how to do acupressure which is something you can do yourself.

Another self-healing technique is called the Reiki. Here, you use your own chi or life force to improve your current condition. This takes time to learn but it will be worth it.

After all, you can sit on your hands and stay there motionless so that your spiritual energy can take care of the rest. This ancient Japanese technique is about meditation and being able to use the power within to get relief.

If you don’t want take any medication or herbal remedies to get relief from your fibro headache, try acupuncture. A trained professional will insert thin needles into vital points of your body.

You can try aromatherapy. This is available in the form of bath salts, oil and candles. You have to choose which scent you like. You may feel better after resting for a short period of time.

Eating certain food can also help treat a fibro headache. Examples of these include green leafy vegetables, soy, grains, nuts and seeds. Not everybody can try these types of food do to some food allergy.

This doesn’t mean you can’t eat these anymore but rather consume these in smaller quantities.

Fibro headaches can be controlled by eating fruit like the mangosteen. This contains COX-2 inhibitors which are present in drugs designed to treat this problem. Why pay for it when you can get it naturally.

    Cognition Fibro Fog & fibromyalgia

    “Sometimes my brain won’t put the words in my mouth; there are times I can’t get my point across even saying very simple things.” Cheryl Stephenson; patient living with fibromyalgia.

    Are you suffering from what many patients with fibromyalgia call brain fog? or “fibro fog”? Some of the many symptoms of fibro fog are:
    1.Can’t find your car keys when you go to leave your house?
    2.Have you ever tried to explain something and couldn’t find the words?
    3.Put the milk in the pantry and the dry cereal in the refrigerator?
    4.Forget if you’ve taken your medication?
    5.Go for a doctor’s appointment on the wrong day or wrong time?
    6.Enter into a room just a few steps away and forgot why you went there?
    7.Overlooked an anniversary or birthday, like your own birthday?
    8.Go to introduce an old friend and couldn’t remember his/her name?
    9.Mess up your checkbook; can never balance?
    10.Lack of concentration at work prevents you from focusing on your work.
    11.Do you feel like you’re crazy and losing it?

    Brain fog is caused by physical symptoms, not psychological ones. This is an important fact to remember.

    Doctors can treat Brain Fog and give you better clarity. Most physicians use different therapies for your particular needs and they watch to see how you respond to those therapies or treatment. Some of the treatments include:

    1.You can have positive effects with thyroid supplements, when you are living with hypothyroidism or thyroid resistance. Along with hypothyroidism, there is a familial disease called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis,(also called autoimmune or chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis), most common in the US; in my case I have both. This condition is about 7 times more common in women than men, and affects approximately 14 million Americans. The results of a malfunction in the immune system can be from Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. When working properly, the immune system is designed to protect the body against invaders, such as bacteria, viruses, and other foreign substances. The immune system of someone with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis mistakenly recognizes normal thyroid cells as foreign tissue, and it produces antibodies that may destroy these cells. Although various environmental factors have been studied, none have been positively proven to be the cause of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. If you optimize other hormones, simultaneously this will help to resolve this issue.

    2.Doctors have a number of methods to help you achieve restorative sleep, which is essential. Since the age of 19, when I was diagnosed with FMS, restorative sleep is and was my ultimate goal in life; just to get a good night’s sleep so I could function the next day, but I usually slept like a cat with one eye open. I woke up feeling like I just went to bed.

    3.Prescription medications such as Provigil and Adderall may help to improve your focus as well as your concentration.

    4.There are some nutritional supplements that help brain fog specifically. These can be very helpful. What else can you do to improve your concentration?

    5.You need more sleep. Try to keep a regular sleep routine. It’s important to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. Limit your intake of caffeine as well as food near bedtime. And never underestimate the power of a decent mattress. I bought a “Ewe” mattress that is a topper for my bed. It helps to maintain the restorative sleep I desire. The softness of the topper is very comfortable and helps me to stay asleep.

    6.Stay active. Keep your mind active with memory enhancers, such as network marketing for example, LOL, puzzles or games. Keep your body active with a routine of moderate exercise when you are able. Your activity increases your energy. This helps clear up the brain fog.

    7.Take notes. Write things down and keep a calendar and/or a notebook on yourself at all times so you can keep track of everything, even if you temporarily forget.

    8.Seek medical treatment. Be true to yourself, get the treatment you need for Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia symptoms such as pain, depression, and lack of sleep make it much harder for you to concentrate and it can make the brain fog even worse. Getting the normal YOU back, is most essential.

    Remember, if you are suffering with fibro fog, you are not alone. Even though many would beg to differ, brain fog is not a psychological condition. Many physicians can help you reduce your brain fog, and can help and assist you.

    What Causes fibromyalgia? Find Out & Kick Your “fibro” To The Curb

    fibromyalgia (FMS) is a syndrome. It’s “proper name” is fibromyalgia Syndrome. A “syndrome” is a bunch of symptoms. Add your symptoms all together and you end up with a syndrome.

    The good news is when your doctor gives you a diagnosis of FMS, he or she is telling you that you don’t have a fatal illness. You’re not going to die although sometimes you may feel like it.

    Your doctor will rule out all of the other diseases and disorders that have similar symptoms. When nothing is left, he’ll give you the diagnosis of FMS. Basically that means: “I acknowledge that you have pain. I don’t know why. You’re not going to die from it.”

    So what are these “causes” that I suggested in the title?

    Everything happens for a reason or cause. If you trip, you will skin your knee. (I know this from experience.) If your car runs out of gas, it will stop. (Ditto.) Some things are random events but almost everything has a cause. Sometimes there is more than one cause.

    Everyone sees things differently. It all depends on the “filters” that the information passes through. Because of my background as a neuromuscular massage therapist I am used to seeking out the cause of a problem. To me a cause may be obvious. To a doctor, a prescription drug may be the obvious cure regardless of the cause.

    What do most doctors learn about in medical school? The most common focus is on relieving symptoms with medication and sometimes surgery. This can be a good thing: I’m grateful for life-saving surgery. But nutrition, stress, muscles and posture are common causes of pain that most doctors didn’t learn about. Those things are not taught much in med school.

    Your Fibromyalgia symptoms may have been caused by an old virus, an old injury or an “unknown” reason. Those known and unknown reasons or causes can often be eliminated naturally. Your symptoms can go away when the cause goes away.

    Your body is smart and wants to be well. It has certain needs that must be met for it to feel and function well. What if you started giving your body everything it needs to function optimally? Your body would have no choice but to reward you.

    Bodies change all the time. They are capable of getting better and they do get better. Plug all the ingredients into the recipe and the cake will be wonderful.

    If you leave out a few of the ingredients, the cake will slump and fail. When you put on the frosting, it may look pretty good but that’s just a cover up.

    The goal is to get rid of the causes of your symptoms.

    You can eliminate causes by giving your body all of the “ingredients” it needs to function its best. Some of those ingredients include correcting your posture, getting the nutrition you need, “releasing” certain areas of muscle that cause pain, and reducing your stress level.

    There are all-natural, incredibly effective ways to cure your Fibromyalgia and get rid of your brain fog, headaches and sleep problems. When you discover the actual causes of “Fibro” and how to eliminate them you will feel better all over.

    When you get rid of the CAUSES of your symptoms, your symptoms will disappear. It really can be that simple.

    Fibro Fog – Is This a Form of Dementia?

    I always jump out of joy when my clients compliment me. Saying my program has helped the to improve their health positively. And has also made their lives much happy.

    This is especially true of my fibromyalgia program feedback. The same theme is often repeated – my program helped where nothing else did, starting with the fact that I consider fibromyalgia to be a medical condition.

    It is no longer surprising to me that many doctors STILL don’t treat fibromyalgia, whose main symptoms include chronic pain and fatigue, as the disease that it is. They often misdiagnose it as depression (this is a symptom of fibromyalgia – not the cause), if they even diagnose it at all. Many still believe that the patient is making it up or it’s some sort of psychosomatic cause.

    The daughter of one such client wrote to me, telling me that her mother, who was suffering from some form of dementia and was being tested for

    Alzheimer’s was also suffering from fibromyalgia. The pain medication prescribed wasn’t working and seemed to actually contribute to the mental confusion her mother was experiencing.

    This happend after following my program regularly. Her mother memory problem and language lapses has also been jointly cured with joint pain and chronic fatigue dissipate.

    How could a program intended for one condition treat another? In short, this can happen with many of my programs – many of them are designed to provide the body with the proper amounts of oxygen. It’s understandable that more oxygen to one area will also mean more oxygen to another.

    In this instance, however, it’s more than that. This is because another symptom of fibromyalgia, while not as well known, can still be just as exasperating to deal with. This is called fibro fog. Sufferers of fibro fog can experience one or more of the following: short-term memory loss, clouded thinking, intermittent language lapses and difficulty concentrating.

    It is just a mystery. Just like fibromyalgia fibro fog too doesn’t have a definite cause.

    Many theories are formulated by experts, but

    The so far proposed theories are lack of oxygen to the brain, lack of delta wave sleep (deepest level of sleep) and side effects of certain medications (among them, ironically, medicines to treat fibromyalgia pain).

    One when cannot go into deep sleep the brain will not be able to sort through all the details that is kept in the conscious mind. And this can lead to memory loss. You can’t say that the memory is affected but it is the difficulty remember the detail. Pain from fibromyalgia can be caused from lack of sleep.

    While the above symptoms of fibro fog do seem to mimic Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, one should not that fibro fog is a physical symptom of fibromyalgia and is not a degenerative disease. This means that if one can clear up fibromyalgia symptoms, this one will dissipate as well and “normal” thinking will occur again.

    Other methods to do is sleeping well, you can try a fan or an “white noise”. Start taking notes – carry around a small notebook or PDA and take notes often. Not only will you have the information available later but the act of writing helps commit the thought to memory. Repeating words is also quite helpful.

    You can also seek the consultation of a physician. It is because to rule out the possibility of Alzheimer’s or any other form of dementia. Apart from this you can choose a quiet place to work you should avoid all distractions.

    You can also involve i games like crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and chess. This will activate you brain a lot and helps you with your memory and concentration.

    You can also exercise on a regular basis as it is highly recommended. But moderate exercise is the requirement. you can get your blood pumping to get that oxygen to the brain.

    Rigorous exercising can actually make ibromyalgia pain worse.
